Self Care At Home:
The Ultimate Goal Of Many
Types Of Alternative Medicine

Self care at home is the ultimate goal for almost all of the types of alternative medicine therapies. Initial consultations plus setting up and confirming the effectiveness of a treatment program are the first stages of any practitioner's visit. After one or two visits and your program is showing promising results, home training is initiated and completed. Often, all future treatments can be handled as a self care at home routine.

Unlike conventional medicine, which requests that you keep returning each week, month or year for another visit, alternative medicine tries to set up a self care at home program from the very start. Understand you will not immediately be sent home and told you are on your own, but the basics will be there so you can tell early in your treatments what type of protocols you will often be facing at your home treatment program.

Some Conditions Do Require Return Visits

Sometimes repeated return visits are necessary. This is no different than it is in conventional medicine. Certain diseases or conditions do require close monitoring initially to guarantee your own health and safety. A schedule of return visits therefore will be set up to confirm your symptoms are improving and your condition is stabilizing. Often some of these conditions include:

  • severe injury or disease requiring immediate and continuous protection (severe cuts or broken bones, etc.)

  • medical conditions which require close monitoring until symptoms can be brought under control (allergies, diabetes, asthma etc.)

  • recurring problems with an area or part of the body (back pain, heart palpitations, hip pain, migraines etc.)

  • patient has tried to "doctor" the condition by themselves but recuperation was never complete. By the time the patient finally does go to the doctor, severe symptoms have set in.

As you can tell, any type of serious condition will require more extended care until the condition is brought under control. After this, your practitioner will generally offer a self care at home program as an option for all of your future treatments.
