No More Allergies Diet: Avoidance Of Triggers Thru Types Of Alternative Medicine
Although the no more allergies diet is just a commonsense approach to eating a healthy nutritious meal per many of the types of alternative medicine, often if you are one of those people that seems to have a list of symptoms as long as your grocery list of things you must avoid, this information can be helpful to control the list of uncomfortable and often inconvenient symptoms that come with a food allergy. Are you tired of the feelings of general tiredness, joint pain, runny nose or itchy eyes and face, coughing spells, gas, bloating and diarrhea. All of this adds up to an overwhelming feeling of malaise. With current testing procedures available through conventional medicine, after countless visits and referrals to all kinds of other specialists, often the result is "we can't find anything wrong". This is not to say there isn't anything wrong- it just means the current testing procedures are incapable of finding the problem. This is generally because conventional medicine is not based on the principle of treating the body as a whole. Many of these people will not take the time or make the effort to even go to the doctor. Therefore a low allergy or a no more allergies diet may actually relieve many of the symptoms. Remember, in the American diet, the primary troublemakers are beef, sugar, corn, wheat and dairy. Reduce the frequency or eliminate these and many times you will be rewarded with better health and vitality. Everyone knows the feeling that after you eat something, it seems like you always get sick from it. If this is what you commonly think, eliminate that from your diet for a few days (approximately 4-5 days is ideal). If you do feel better by the end of that week, you know there is a very good chance that food product is your trigger. If you feel better but not quite right yet, you may have to keep trying with other products also until you find out what foods are the combination making you ill. This is the basis of a no more allergies diet. Tips For Grocery Shopping- Buy fresh unprocessed foods- in a large chain store , this generally means shop along the 3 outside walls. Produce, fresh meats and fish, fruits and vegetables are almost always on an outside wall.
- Avoid impulse buying- Have a prepared list of the foods you need for the next 4 days(remember you are not repeating any of your suspected allergy triggers) and pick these items up only. If you can't go into a store and not pick up and fill your cart with other stuff, send the list in with someone else.
- Read the labels- this must become a new habit anytime you are purchasing any pre-packaged or canned goods. Ingredients are always listed so the largest proportion is on first and then they go in descending order. Try to avoid products with high concentrations of sugar, salt, partially hydrogenated oils and wheat products. Remember though, each of these items come in many different names. Familiarize yourself with them so you can understand the label.
- Where to shop-there is several good alternatives here but the easiest is try your own backyard. If you enjoy flower gardening- try vegetables too.
Vegetables mixed in with your flowers can make a beautiful presentation plus you get the advantage you get to eat the crop after blooming. The second choice is visit many of the local farmer's markets, farm stands or grower's co-ops. Most of these small independents use very little to no chemicals and preservatives. Third choice is if there is a local health food store handling a grocery line. Other than the fresh goods, you can often find cereals, pastas, breads and other items made with alternative grains. Remember though to read the labels. Often health food stores carry the regular product lines also that are not acceptable on a no more allergies diet. These items often are still loaded with chemicals and preservatives.
Methods Of Cooking Are you one of those that would prefer to eat out all the time just because it takes too long to cook? The problem here is your cooking methods. There is no special method of cooking on the no more allergies diet, but think short. In other words, cook it for the least amount of time possible. Many vegetables are very difficult to eat in their raw state, so sweet potatoes, carrots, broccoli etc. can all be lightly steamed or stir-fried. Avoid frying and boiling because both of these rely on very high and long cooking times which result in a major loss of nutrients.Exercise- A Must For Optimal HealthAlthough this is not a food product or in any way something you ingest, it is still one of the most important things you can do on the no more allergies diet. Many people can and do change their diet, change their priorities, de-stress their life, but they take no consideration of fitting exercise into their life. Our bodies were designed to move. Movement keeps the blood pumping in our systems, air flowing to every pore and muscle in the body and keeps our limbs and joints flexible and sharp. Pick any part of your body and there is a reason exercise can help develop it to its highest potential. Excuses always abound, whether it is lack of money, lack of time, the weather, lack of interest or a current medical condition. Everybody enjoys doing something- start with small moves and work up to greater heights. Exercise is a very important part of a no more allergies diet. Plus you get the benefit your body and your health will thank you for it.
