My Girlfriend At Work Can't Even Touch A Dog!

Cats Are Fine --- Dogs Are Out!!
A girl at work (Dannie) mentioned one day after she started working here that she has to steer clear of dogs. I've known several people before allergic to dogs so I just assumed she had the same types of problems they do.
Yesterday at work, we sponsored a fundraiser for the local animal shelter. It was supposed to be for kittens and cats only so she wanted to work that day also. Unfortunately, many of the customers came with their dogs and were just walking around with them on a leash outside.
Dannie kept saying she would have to stay indoors so she could stay away from the dogs. We all just kept doing her odd jobs so she would not have to get close to them.
Her young daughter came with her to work to help hand out treats to the customer. We told Dannie she went out the front door because her Dad was here. Being a mother, she wanted to check, so she opened the door to peek outside and look for her daughter.
Unknowing to us all, a customer inside the store had tied their dog to the porch railing outside the door. When Dannie looked out, the dog ran up, jumped up and licked her on the face.
Within mere seconds, her eye looked like someone had punched her. Within 30 seconds, her eye was completely swollen shut and her face looked like a balloon. Within a minute, she was a red, swollen mess. The coughing and sneezing, runny nose and tears pouring from her eyes would not stop.
I had never seen someone who could get so severe so quickly from an allergic reaction. I still can't believe she was fine and then less than one minute later she was a wreck.
Gosh, but I am so glad no one in my family is affected that badly from something as simple as just a friendly dog.
