Juice Fasting:
Healing Benefits From Many
Types Of Alternative Medicines

Juice fasting is commonly used as a health and wellness program by many types of alternative medicine. Often, this program is utilized several times a year by many experienced individuals.

The term "fasting" means a complete abscence of all foods, therefore water only was permissable. Doctors and researchers though realized by using juices instead, they could achieve far better results and still give the digestive system an opportunity for rest and cleansing.

This form of fasting has the advantage of cleansing the body of waste products to relieve the pressure on every cell and organ of the body without the stress placed on it as in a water fast. This is accomplished by the addition of the vitamins, minerals and nutrients the "faster" derives from the juices themselves. Toxic accumulations are still relieved, every major cell and organ is rejuvenated but the body as a whole is not compromising its nutrient content. This results in a shorter list of symptoms the body must be concerned with.

Benefits Of Juice Fasting

Other than the obvious removal of all toxins from the body, a juice fast does have the advantage of relieving or improving many chronic health conditions. This is solely the result of strengthening the immune system to achieve better health.

A healthy immune system does have the capability of allowing its energy to heal the body itself. This is evidenced every time you break a bone, cut your finger, catch a cold etc.. Modern medicine does nothing to heal these conditions. It can mask the symptoms and make your term of illness more comfortable but it does not heal the break, repair the cut etc.. Many people have stated their doctors are telling them their heart condition, diabetes, eczema and hives from food allergies have reduced symptoms or symptoms are no longer evident. Your body also seems to have an increased resistance to allergens or infections.

Preparations For

Anytime an upcoming fast is being planned, it is advisable for several days before to start to wind down your food intake. For these several days eat only fruits and vegetables and drink more liquids. Once digestion itself has stopped, the body will go through a process of cleaning every cell and organ by utilizing stored fats, glucose minerals, enzymes, proteins and triglycerides in your body. As each part of your system becomes cleansed, toxic waste may become stalled in your large intestine because no bulk is flowing through your system any more to help push it out as waste. A daily enema is recommended to prevent toxins from reversing and entering into your bloodstream.

It is important though to remember under no conditions should a child, a breast-feeding mother, a diabetic, any victim of heart disease or tuberculosis start a fasting program without the supervision of a medical professional.

Definition Of

Juice fasting is not referring to the bottles or cans you can find in any grocery store. The juices used in fasting are all 100% homemade and do get made at every mealtime. There is no make a large batch and use it for the next several days. Homemade juice loses up to 50% of its vitamin and minerals within 15 minutes after preparation. Therefore storage of large batches is not an option.(This is the reason for all those additives and preservatives in the grocery store)

Generally a juice fast will last for seven days. It is important though to remember there is restrictions needed at the end of your fast. Always check with your doctor before the first juice fasting to learn the correct procedure, some recipes or general instructions needed to return to a normal diet.
